bobsyouruncle
Time spent finishing off this painting is the main reason behind me not making much progress on the 48th scale Lightning F6 lately. This one's another oil on canvas, 36" x 24". Cheers Bob.

upnorth
That is a stunner! What method did you use to depict the heat distortion? That's really convincing.

keefr22
Not a word I tend to use often, but in this case I think it's apt - AWESOME!!!The whole painting is of course superb, but that jetwash is just so convincing!Absolutely fabulous work Bob!! bobsyouruncle
Cheers for the comments guys. Upnorth, keefr, thanks, the heat distortion/jetwash is basically a bit of playing around with brush-applied wavy, flowing lines of paint, intermingling them, a bit of thinner mixed in here and there and adjusting to taste. I hope that makes sense? Cheers Bob.

Rich G
Really nice painting, as has already been mentioned the heat distortion and the out of focus background makes it look particularly realistic. Rich

Britman
I paint in oils and I am pleased to say that is bang on the money for me! I must practice more. And it certainly gives computer imaging a run for its money, not that the best of those are too shabby.
