Kerr65
Some shots from my recent build (no scratch building, just the kit as was).. The kit was dated 1973, a number if components off the sprues and decal paper yellowed. Model was primed with Halfords can then Revell acrylics used with airbrush. Around 5 coats of gloss varnish applied before finally fixing the basic decal set. Invasion stripes (not shown here) masked and airbrushed. Two more coats of gloss, some weathering then 3 coats of matt. Mal.
Housesparrow
This makes me wonder if the rivets are protruding out from the hull, instead of being flush (looks like it, guessing it is realistic). The reason I began thinking about this, is the problem of how to apply a wash to something that has a rounded nail head, instead of the typical modern recessed "pits". Kerr65
I covered the model with Ultimate Weathering Wash Dark Dirt. Once I removed the excess the wash seems to have remained around the rivet heads but only around some of the raised panel lines, worked OK though.
