If memory serves, Magna may have included Severn Airways livery in thier kit, can anyone confirm?

Thomo.

Magna provided two options, Central African Airways & 728 Sq Royal Navy. Chris

Yes indeed

I would like to do Sea Devon XK895 as part of a little 'green' Navy project I have bubbling away.

I can't find any copyright friendly pictures, so this is of an FSX model:

I love that green

In this boxing they provided a myriad of liveries, including Severn Airways.

Thomo

Apologies Thomo I was thinking of kit 5072. the Dove/Devon. In this kit you only get the Dan Air markings, according to the decal sheets I still have. Martin usually provided details of various operators of the type, but few decal options.

The A-Model Dove and Devon kits just hit the shelves.

Nice kits overall with restraint engravings but no cabin interior, only cockpit. Decals dor the Devon also included a Royal Navy example but the blue is a bit light so the aftermmarkjket boys will have a field day, they will have anyway.

The Dove has the Martin Air Markins as well as a few derivatives like Firways of Rotterdam and an executive livery, all in basically the Martinair Scheme. Also a Portugese example of Transportes Aereos de Timor is included.

Can we please keep it to one thread per new release.

Thx

Thanks for the photos Jan :).

It looks very nice. Definitely going to get one of these.

Maybe Amodel could give us a new Heron if this sells well  ?

Best regards

Thanks for adding these pictures. Amodel kits get better with each new release and the inclusion of colour painting guides is very helpful. This kit looks very decent with some nice details.

Great model and one that'll be added to my collection.

Looks very nice, I cannot see my Magna kit getting built, AModel seemed to have made good progress on their kit production from the likes of the LA250 I-16.

Hrmm, I hope we see a vac formed canopy replacement. Having the top section of the transparency separate isn't going to look very clear.

We'll also need another transparency option behind the cockpit.

Have a look on eBay. There are some images of the box top. It appears the Royal New Zealand Navy is one (on the box top) with the RN possibly being another option.

The RNZN did not use the Devon. The boxtop illustration is of a "warbird" (which war please?) current civilian Devon formerly used by the RNZAF. Magua87's post shows just two of many attractive RNZAF schemes and variants.

I've just received my civil version of this kit. First impressions are of a wonderful model. The finish of the plastic is great with neat engraved panel lines. Placing the upper and lower wing halves together suggests a fantastic fit.

Amodel kits have improved hugely over the past few years. The lack of locating pins is probably the only indication that "the model is executed on technology short run".

This all bodes well for their Caravelle, Falcon and Gulfstream.

Warbird is generally defined as "ex-military aircraft now in civil/private operation". To be pedantic, I'm sure some of our Bristol Freighter pilots who flew into Vietnam during that war would have trained on Devons.
