Ray S
Hello all. I hope it is okay to post this here, but I am doing a scratch-build of the Coastal Steamer SS Ophir over on the Made in Britain Group Build. Hopefully a link:- http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/234994334-ss-ophir-steam-coaster/page-1 The plans were in a book by C V Waine, and it is called 'Steam Coasters'. I have had a great interest in Maritime for a long while and I know I have not posted much in this section for a while, but I am still dropping in and checking you all out! There is some brilliant stuff going on here as usual. The inspiration for this project was our friend Shipbuilder MN, and his excellent builds he has posted in this Maritime section. You have gained a convert! There are quite a few in the book I would like to have a go at, and there are some unusual configurations to whet the appetite! All the best, Ray

ShipbuilderMN
Here is another from a different angle: http://www.photoship.co.uk/JAlbum%20Ships/Old%20Ships%20O/slides/Ophir-04.jpg I built one a few years ago! Bob
ShipbuilderMN
I have edited this out because I put it in the wrong section, and moved it to where I meant to put it, in whaleships! Bob Thanks a huge amount Bob for the link. Photoship has a veritable gold mine of pictures, hasn't it? I have got a few more now from that site showing her from the other quarters, and it has helped me get some answers I could not read from the plans. My model is going to be a 'close but no cigar' one, as some details are now too late in the finding out (like the curves on the decks and superstructure across the beam). This is very much a learning build, Longshanks has already added some great ideas for me over on the build site, so thanks you too Mr Longshanks sir! Cheers, Ray
longshanks
" Mr Longshanks sir! " LOL I don't think so Ray plain Kev is more than enough. As for the information, your most welcome. In a previous life I've built a few boats for R/C, so its a case of been there done that and learnt the hard way Kev
