david v
Hi Guys, just wondering if anyone has used these paints and id so are they any good, also what ratio would you thin them,im just about to start an Eduard Mig 21, and have not done a complete airframe, i have been using Alclad for my metallics with an extracter, but still get a residual smell,so would dearly like to use something that is a lot more user freindly. wasacop
Normally i brush these and buff them up when dry with a cotton bud. Yesterday i thought id have a go at spraying and just used it straight from the bottle as it seemed quite thin. it went on like a dream and buffed up nicely. Duncan B
The Super metallics can be sprayed straight from the pot, give them a really good stir/shake first though. Duncan B
Artie
I like them, give a nice and smooth finish, but find the quite difficult to handle.....leave a metallic "dust" and are a nightmare to mask. That's my experience with them....others will surely give a better input.... Cheers....
fayfaychu
I believe the Mr colour super metallic range are to be sprayed and cannot be buffed. Another range from Mr Colour with special labels are specifically designed for buffing. To achieve best results from the super metallic range, it needs to be sprayed at very very thin layers and build up accordingly. Since both Mr Colour and Alcads are lacquers they are roughly the same in terms of smell and toxicity.
