Convair 240 to 340

I don't have any reference material on the Convair 240 series.

Can anyone point me to some decent line drawings of the Convair 340.

I'm thinking of hacking up the Testors/Hawk kit and go after this one.

Also, any suggestions for some engine face inserts for the nacelles would be helpful, too.

TIA

Here is a nice Testors C-131 Samaritan (nee-CV 240) build article: http://www.cybermodeler.com/hobby/builds/tes/build_tes_0622.shtml

The modeller uses engines provided by a Mr Boyd Waechter, but with provenance otherwise unknown. I think a spares box ought to turn up something useable in the way of a pair of tiny radials. Any discrepancy is not likely to detract too much, given the kit's other shortcomings which, as a cursory glance shows, appear to be legion.

That said, personally I'd sell a Hawk CV 240 to a collector and use the proceeds to get a Mach 2 or Proteus 1/72 kit, and take it from there, but that's your choice.

Re. drawings, got some busy-looking ones by Mike Herrill (if memory serves), done in the 1970s or earlier. Don't know how faithful they are. Will look for 'em and let you know in a private message if I get any joy.
