Ian I doubt I'll get much more done this coming week, but I've got the bit between my teeth again the moment so you never know! 11 hours ago, Max Headroom said: That rudder in your hand really brings home the scale of this.....behemoth. Still in awe at your skill, determination and execution! Trevor Thanks, Trevor - hopefully the picture of it on the kitchen table (and the fact it barely fits on it!) give a sense of size, too! 12 hours ago, perdu said: I will be round as soon as I can Tom, wouldn't miss it for the world Lovely work on the ... Well All of it really but the rudders are especially brilliant I saw the white cut outs and the round bits at the front and was thinking "Oh no he is going to hinge the centre part as well as the mass balance centres" Dohh OK call me stupid, I know you wouldn't make such a mistake Just that I know I might have I'll look forward to seeing you next weekend, then! The rudder hinges were the trickiest part - getting them to fit snugly to the fins themselves was a challenge but as will all things like this, measure thrice, cut once!

Fritag
Marvelous. And I use the American spelling cos I mean it most particularly in the American dictionary sense of: 1. causing wonder; surprising, astonishing, or extraordinary 2. so extraordinary as to be improbable, incredible, or miraculous (Webster’s New World College Dictionary, 4th Edition) Edited November 4, 2017 by Fritag

Pastor Rich
I just got back from Ottawa where I got to see the Lancaster in the Canada Aviation and Space Museum. The Lanc is huge! And the Shack is even bigger?? WOW!!! Very impressive work on the rudders. Done to perfect effect! I hope you have a safe trip to Telford!! k5054nz
I was about to ask on the B-52 thread but figured I'll only distract from the subject there: is all well with the Shack? Did I miss something?

Best Regards, Jason Sorry to disappoint, chaps, but there's been no progress since the last update which was pre-Telford. I'm at the point where I've got to make the flightdeck and forward fuselage interior, and to be honest I hate working on cockpits so I keep putting off making a start. I was looking at it again just this afternoon so may well start cutting some plastic soon - it'll be when the mood takes though. All the best, Tom.

Patience has worn a bit thin with this one of late and it's in storage currently. I've made a very tentative start on scratch-building the pilots' seats but no further progress. It'll get its turn again soon enough, but I'm knee-deep in a 1/48th B-52 project at the moment so this is on the back-burner for the time being... until I get bored of the B-52 that is!
