A close look at the Kitty Hawk's messages in a chinese forum concerning the future Mirage 2000 kit ( http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/234995392-148-dassault-mirage-2000-family-by-kitty-hawk-cads-release-in-2016/ ) display, in the signature from the KH representative, a Boeing MH/AH-6 Little Bird CAD. Would be quite logical after the 1/48th AH-1Z Viper ( http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/234975145-ah-1z-viper-148/ ) and UH-1Y Venom ( http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/234974037-148-bell-uh-1y-venom-super-huey-by-kitty-hawk-released/ ) kits isn't it?

It will almost certainly be in 1/48th. How can I be so sure you ask?!? That's an easy one, I'm 3/4 of the way through using the ancient Acadamy MH-6 kit and the CMK resin conversion. I won't pass comment other than to say it's hit my shelf of doom three times thus far!!!!!!!!

Probably a good thing that you're not allowed to swear on here really, lol!

I'm pleased to announce the impending release of two new Little Birds in 1/35th from Kitty Hawk. The first should be the AH-6J and that will be followed up by the MH-6J. I'm not in charge of the release schedule. I just proof the CAD and make marking recommendations. These kits will have complete interiors and engine compartments. The CAD has been developed from actual -10s, the operator's manual for those not in the US Army, real aircraft and first hand accounts.

The AH-6J will include two M-134s, two M-260 seven shot pods and the optional GAU-19 gun. The AH-6J will include MFDs in the cockpit.

The MH-6J will have the common type of operator bench along with the early FRIES system.

For those who want to see the kits they are on my personal and Werner's Wings Facebook pages and will be on Kitty Hawk's page tomorrow. They have allowed me to announce new helicopter kits on my pages. These CAD drawings are not finished yet but are very close. Close enough that we are able to share them.

If these sell well there will be more helicopters in this scale. We are already working on at least four other helicopters, many on your short lists. It is going to be good to be a helicopter modeler.

Here is the box art for the 1/35th scale AH-6J, coming soon from Kitty Hawk. The MH-6J will follow this release. Then the Vietnam era UH-1D/H. (See here: http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/234995437-135-bell-uh-1dh-huey-by-kitty-hawk-cads-release-in-2017/ )

Looking good, any idea if the kit will include cabin doors?  I really want to build a particular version that had doors installed.  Any info on when the MH-6 would be released?

Lastly, will we be getting PE seatbelts?

Not sure on belts. It was meant to be released at the end of this year so I guess over the next few months.

For a kit that was supposed to be released 7 months ago, we now have the clear sprues and box art.   Does anyone have info on when this one will actually be released?   I've also been asking on other sites if they plan on accurately modeling the fuselage with the raised rivets that are so prominent on the real thing, or are they going to go with the recessed ones as they have done on all their other helo kits.    Any info on this is gratefully appreciated. KH has ignored requests for updates on their FB page, which doesn't inspire a great deal of confidence...

It seems like this kit has dropped off of KH's radar.  In the year and half since announcement, we've gotten a few CAD's, boxart and pic of the canopy.  KH has ceased all talk of this on their FB page.

Got a PM from someone who is supposedly in the know that it's no longer in the queue for production.   No idea if this is the case or not but given the lack of progress, seems plausible.  Disappointing but not the end of the world. The Dragon kit is actually pretty decent and builds up quite well.

Seems to be some concern about this kit being covered with recessed "rivets" as KH did on their 1/48 UH-1H Huey kit.   The real H-6 is covered in RAISED rivets which need to be replicated.     Really hope this isn't the case, if so, I'll pass on this one and stick with the Dragon kit which really isn't that bad to begin with.   Honestly, in 2017, there is no excuse for not replicating these.  Dragon did it 15 years ago, KH should be doing the same.   If not, might as well go full retro and release the darned thing with raised panel lines.
