According to the article Germany is holding talks with possible European partners about what they would want from the aeroplane.........Hmnnnn

How about a German guarantee not to delay delivery by a decade or so for starters?!

When the RAF started flying Jaguars with NVG's some pilots started putting strips of tape over the offending bright cockpits lights!! One draw back was if your night flyers forgot to clean the cockpit of tape, the day flyers could miss things as some instruments were then not lit.

I am surprised its still a problem these days?

If you don't change the lighting to NVG compatible, it is a problem. If you do, then...

For instance:

And a discussion from some years ago on Pprune (I wonder if oven-compatible lighting will be fitted in the Hercs now we're keeping them....?)

It seems a bit late in the day for Germany to be talking about a 'new' aircraft. Apparently only a fraction of their Tornados are even airworthy. It must be F-35 or upgraded Typhoon, surely. What other European country is in the position to start developing a completely new combat aircraft?
