leyreynolds
Does anyone have photo's/drawings of Haltons used by Westminster Airways and/or Worldair Carriers please?
Graham Boak
There's a photo of Westminster Airways' G-AJNW in the Aeroplane Icons booklet, but that's a Mk.VIII. It presumably does show how they carried their title on their Haltons. I don't think I've seen Worldair Carriers.
leyreynolds
Thanks Graham. Photo's of Haltons after BOAC service seem quite rare.
Graham Boak
The problem is that the Berlin Airlift used up the supply of dirt-cheap ex-RAF Hercules. The economics of air-freight ruled out paying for new engines or even factory overhauls of the current ones, so there was only a very brief remaining period of use. If you can't get the Icon, I'll scan you the picture but it'll have to wait until my daughter goes back and vacates the "main computer room".
