But in FAA schemes - take care for the rear canopy shape

Interesting, AMG seem to have modelled the rear canopy type in that 2nd aircraft you show, which is flatter, where as the othe type canopy on the T.20 is the standard single seat canopy which is more bugled. I wonder if both style rear canopies are in the kit?

Interesting that in this photo the canopy does not look like the "flat" type depicted in the kit but more like the "bubble" one in the top  FAA picture.

Or am I just having a funny 5 minutes :hmmm::hypnotised:

No, you're correct. The rear canopy currently being worn by G-RNHF - formerly G-BCOW, and before that D-CACO amongst other identities - is not the original one which she had when she was in German service as D-CACO, and is not a factory canopy. I don't know for certain when she acquired it but it was clearly after this picture was taken in 1974...

... and it seems likely that canopy was American-made during the aeroplane's life as racer N8476W "Nuthin' Special", as she is wearing it in the linked pic here:

That looks like the flat one to me.

Thanks, lets hope AMG are putting the standard single seat canopy sprue in the box as well then.

In a set of two gate with transparent parts. Standard for all models, and even for the two-seat version.

What's the chances of this being scaled down to 72nd?  The competition ranges from the old (Frog), the Bad (Trumpeter) and the ugly (MPM/Special Hobby).

You forgot the inexpensive and widely available PM kits which, though simple, are basically the right shape. With some trailing-edge thinning (upper wing half on one side, lower wing half on the other side) and ideally a vac-form canopy they can look pretty good.

For those with larger budgets the Special Hobby kit is far from unbuildable and seems to come out well.

I didn't, I just didn't mention it, largely because it's a copy of the old Frog kit.  There's a lot of other things wrong with the PM kit and they take a lot of work to bring them up to a reasonable standard - new cockpit interior, new intakes, new u/c (the Aeroclub one is now well nigh impossible to obtain).

TBH, I just want a good one from the box with a minimal amount of work.  And I don't get that with any of the available kits.

*I also neglected to mention the Highplanes one, as it's reasonably accurate, it's just a pig to put together, and also the AKI one, but they're like rocking horse poo to find and very expensive when you do!
