Titan Find Blake's 7 - The Liberator (with Matt Irvine)

Recommended Posts

Hi

I got lucky at the IPMS Telford Show - Matt Irvine very kindly spent a good time with me at our Farnborough team bench reminiscing on his BBC days with the Liberator and joined me for a picture of my completed Titan Find kit.

The WIP link is here for you if interested - www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/234978632-blakes-7-the-liberator-titan-find-resin-kit/

It took nearly a year of touch and go work, plus a mad rush in the last 2 weeks leading upto Scale Model World 2015, but I'm very pleased with the end product and the sign I designed to display the kit - I hope you like it too

Very nice indeed. :) Does anyone else remember when Matt used to be a regular guest on Swap Shop on a Saturday? I used to enjoy those segments. BTW - is that a Spinosaurus in your hand there? :)

Indeed he did, and I'm sure he was on Blue Peter with similar regularity - on a similar note didn't Swap Shop once devote a whole programme to a modelling special?

Beautiful finished model of the good ole Libby -the design always looked dead cool to me; sort of 'familiar but alien at the same time'. One of the greats, and superbly realised here!

:goodjob:

Slightly off piste... when I was a young teenager watching Blakes 7 I had a bit of a 'thing' for Servilan. Sad, but true.

Entirely understandable. :bounce:

Cracking job, saw this in the flesh so to speak at telford, one of my favourite sci-fi ships, youve done her proud.

All the best Chris

Cheers Chris

Glad you liked it - catch you somewhere at a show in 2016

I think he's pals with Little-cars Paul too :)

Have known Mat for a few years now. We put on 4 shows a year, the smallspace one in July is the SF and space one.

We normally have a big selection of props and replica props and Britmodeller usually has a stand there.. ..... . http://www.hamex.co.uk/smallspace/smallspace-gen/smallspace-gen.html

See the photos on the website....

We try to get something a little unusual there each year, this year it was the Whomobile....have a UFO exhibit that I'm hoping to get get along next time and if it's finished a Space 1999 replica if it's finished. Would love to see that Liberator at the show.
