Saddler
Hi again Folks, My latest offering is Airfix's new tool Mustang, lovely kit, no real fit issues. Finish is Alclad duralumin with the gun hatches in Alclad A/F Aluminium, which always comes out dark for me...gunmetally. Lost a part u/c strut but airfix sent me a new one out FOC which was brill of them. Interior is standard(Vallejo model air Zinc chromate) apart from some 'superfabric' belts by eduard. Wished I'd painted the behind spinner red instaed of decal as it looks a bit rough. I haven't really weathered it because I don't know where to stop and was fairly pleased with the NMF. Enjoy and comment please.

doozer1974
Nicely done - I'm still an Alclad virgin, but have just taken delivery of my first batch, and am keen to get going with it.

Saddler
Thanks for the comments all, actually the tanks and a couple of panels were done with the new Vallejo metal colour, seems pretty good, a bit more forgiving than Alclad.☺ Edited November 24, 2015 by Saddler
Jessica
I like it One bit of constructive criticism regarding the canopy. If you paint the frames in the interior colour first, they'll look a little more solid, Painting the front edge of the canopy makes it look like less of a piece of plastic and more like an in-scale canopy. Knight_Flyer
Excellent result with the nmf and actually the weathering is the right amount so you made the correct decision to not go further. Only comment I might make is the yellow tips have been painted a bit too far down the blade.

Saddler
HI All, Jessica - I usually do as you suggest but lost my patience with this one as I had already messed up one cockpit hood, also the raised frames are very unobvious on the moulding. Consider my wrist slapped !! Knight flyer - Thanks for that....I have always guessed....is their any 'rule of thumb' with this(in mm etc)?
Spitfire31
Very nice looking Mustang! However, one un-Mustangish feature is the enhanced wing panel lines. P-51 wings were puttied, smoothed and painted silver forward of the mainspar to improve laminar flow. So, no visible panel lines there. ;-) Good job otherwise! Kind regards, Joachim
