ForestFan
Hi, I should have started a thread in the KUTA GB but forgot, and now I am not too far away from completion! Anyway here's an old neglected Academy kit that I have used to try out the new AK Extreme Metal paints, using Freightdog decals. There's probably all sorts of detail issues but I'm quite happy how it's turning out! Thanks for looking. FF Harvard

Shalako
Very nice work! Any problems with the new AK metal paints? Did you "gloss" the model prior to applying the decals?
ForestFan
Very nice work! Any problems with the new AK metal paints? Did you "gloss" the model prior to applying the decals? Thanks for the kind words. I sprayed the AK over a primer which I think is a necessity. Tried using Vallejo new gloss for metalic paints - don't use this over the AK stuff, I think it reacts due to differing chemical components (I'm not too clever with chemistry!) Luckily I hadn't varnished everything, and what I did remained tacky for a long time! I do like the AK paints
