stoutdave
Hi all, Can someone please recommend a suitable chrome effect substitute for Humbrol 191 Chrome. Everywhere seems to be out of stock and it's listed in the required colours for the model I'm doing. Thanks in advance from a n00b modeller
Pete in Lincs
If you have an old tin of Humbroll 11 silver. have a dig around in the bottom sludge. Used sparingly it makes a good chrome.
Space Ranger
Give Alclad a try. The Chrome requires a gloss black primer, and the Chrome itself should not be applied too heavy. Chrome finishes, regardless of brand and whether lacquer, enamel, or water-based, require a bit of transparency to look effective.
Tomjw
You could try Mr Metal Chrome by Gunze. It brushes really well. Cheers, Tom.
