TOPGUN88
Hi guys. I was wondering if anyone knew if there were any after market wheels for the arri Cessna skyhawk. I am planning to make an irish air corps rocket with the max decals I Have but the wheels are a bit funny in the kit. If not is there any wheel sets that would be of a similar size? Lazlo Woodbine
I don't think there's any aftermarket for the kit as I am doing an IAC one too, Number 243 was a replacement fitted with wheel spats and tinted windows. Probably would try some 1/144 airliner wheels as replacements. Gary
TOPGUN88
Hi Gary. Thanks for the reply. Never thought of trying airliners wheels in 1/144 scale. I searched google for an IAC machine and came across one with under wing amo that had wheel spats on the main wheels but not the front. I thought strange combination but i had also seen the same on a skyhawk at the start of the movie iron eagle.
Jessica
172 footware is highly variable, given that the spats are removable. Sometimes you see them and sometimes you don't. Try 737 wheels for a 1/72 172. The Airfix parts department will be happy to sell you a set for a reasonable fee.
Tony Edmundson
A Cessna 172 main tire is 16" in dia with a 6" wheel, a nose tire is 13" on a 5" wheel. Look for main wheels with a diameter of 5.6mm and nose wheel of 4.6mm for a 1/72 scale Cessna. Cheers, Tony
