gregax
Hi there! I know You are all waiting for my flanker, but I've decided to get this build done after 4 years that spent in the box. So here we go. Aires c-pit still looks ok after 4 years... There was some extensive filling, sanding, regraving and riveting done, especially on the nose section. Tailbooms ready Wheelbays done. There are still some minor bits missing Almost ready for black primer. Edited December 16, 2015 by gregax

gregax
Looking good! Martin It does now... Used tons of superglue to fill all those glue seams. Of course, then the details were gone, so i had to rescribe everything...
woody37
Gorgeous start, I reckon when Lockheed shown drawings to the USAAF, it was sold in seconds, it looks fast when its sitting there!
gregax
Had some time to do the airbrushing yesterday... First, interior green was sprayed over the canopy, followed with Gunze GX2 gloss black for Alclad... Edited November 17, 2015 by gregax
Breaker
Looks like an excellent base for the Alclads to shine on Greg, Your photo of it prior to primer almost looks like a CAD image it's that clear!
gingerbob
Just curious- why two different colours of plastic on the tailbooms? Evidently you swapped parts from two individual kits. I've been looking at Academy and Hasegawa early P-38s in the last few days, but I really prefer the later ones. But what an airframe to "bare metal"! bob
gregax
Reason for two different plastics on tailbooms is that I got a box with one sprue missing. So Hasegawa sent me spare one with different coloured plastic.

Pete in Lincs
Four years in the box? Should be well matured then. P-38's almost as pretty as a Spitfire.

gregax
Hi, First layers of Alclad done, the parts that were done in natural alu are finished, some drybrushing is still to come, next I have to mask all this for painted sections...
