Painting over Humbrol Metalcote?

Hi guys, it's me again!

I have a Redtails P-51C sitting here up next, and I am planning on giving it a coat of humbrol metalcote polished aluminium after seeing their product video and after a recommendation of my local hobby shop.

Now, my question is, is it possible to paint on the red tail and wingtips and the olivebrown-ish anti-glare in front of the cockpit after the application of the metal cote? This would save me the headache of attempting to accurately mask the areas which the metal-cote isn't allowed to touch, but I am not sure myself if it can be done...
