Is a year a long time ? (Wagon kit building)

It's like this ..... I sort of dropped out of aircraft building as I was suffering from the self imposed pressure of trying to make top notch models. After nigh on 40 years I could see my standards slipping.

Decide to play trains instead and use RTR stock, but enjoy making scenery. Then I bought a kit of something not available as a commercially produced wagon. That was in November 2014 and then the old "build it" bug hit me hard. I've just been doing a review of my 2015 build programme and I've started 36 and finished, all but some weathering, 35 !! These are not static but part of my fleet of 350 wagons that can get thrashed around layouts. Obvuiously this excludes any too frail parts, but then wagons didn't have that much to fall off !!

Thought I'd show a few.

The Dapol Lowmac as far as I know not from the Ex Airfix products, makes a good wagon. Comes with just 1 number, but with a spare sheet or two, good eyes and sharp scalpel you could make up 18 numbers I have done 3.

All three lined up to show wagon numbers, all are now fully weathered.

Ratio do some nice GWR 5 plank wagons, so far only 2 of the 3 kits made.

Parkside Dundas go some very good kits, but you have to sort out your own decals.

If you can take any more I'll add a few more later .......'V'
