Small update here, just finished the suspension, the engine covers and almost done the seats, though they still need a bit more work. Please note that this model doesn't have a full interior, just enough so that you are satisfied when you look through the open crew hatches :)

Suspension:

Engine Covers:

I'll follow this along I love the T34 series

Roger

Thanks! It's nice to know someone is looking :)

Meanwhile, the interior of the hull has been finished; the chairs have had a wash (will give them a gloss varnish to make them look more 'cushiony') and I have added a black box made out of cardboard, (saw it in photos) pretty rough I know but it does the job :P

P1250699_zpsic5auyx6.jpg

Nice machine gun, though you won't see it much :(

P1250693_zpsrcreizlk.jpg

the machine gun port was quite fiddly, made up of 4 pieces.

P1250696_zpsq1hme30k.jpg

Always liked the back exhaust of the T-34, I have no idea why....

P1250702_zpsglm63rps.jpg

They give you a LOT of wheels, and you don't use a chunk of them

The ones you do use:

And the ones you don't use:

P1250700_zpsov2miyib.jpg

That's all I have done so far, another update most likely coming later today :)

Any tips, advice and criticisms are welcome

Just debating if I should give the tank a very light white wash after airbrushing to look like melted snow, and maybe the green is too dark?

Answers much appreciated :)

Weathering update

Streaks, chips and detail painting done for the most part, though I', still not sure whether to use a white wash in the cracks and crevasses to simulate slightly melted snow, but I'm starting to give it the benefit of the doubt.

Anyway, here are some photos!

Hull weathering

P1250803_zpszfrlqx9w.jpg

Simulated bullet hits, though I may have to do a little more work on it!

Turret

P1250807_zpsca9qqvfo.jpg

P1250806_zps8hazvcok.jpg

Made a tarp for a base if I want to make one, but I may have to make it a little smaller!

P1250799_zpsxna4yraq.jpg

Also, about the base if I am making one I will have to start COMPLETELY from scratch... thinking of inside a shed or garage or something. Any advice for this would be much appreciated!

I wouldn't add any snow effects unless I was going to go the full hog and apply a winter camouflage scheme. Your model is green/brown, implying that it is not winter yet. With the first proper snowfalls the crew would whitewash the whole tank.

Besides, it's very hard to model patches of 'slightly melted snow'. But, if you do decide to add snow, remember that the heat from the engines would prevent snow build-up on the rear decking.

Another small update, decals on! I made a few pretty horrible mistakes with these, but they look fine from a distance :banghead:

P1250814_zpsauh17vxw.jpg

All I need to do now is put the tracks on and start on the workshop :) Here it is again with a very poorly looking matilda crewman

P1250812_zpsrhv6fxiu.jpg

Got some random junk from the spares box to make up odds and ends in the workshop, such as some spare parts from an airfix 1/72 jeep, 1/35 tiger, some torps and shells, rockets (don't ask me why....) spare wheels from the kit, and engine cowling from a hellcat. Hopefully I get something good out of these......

P1250813_zpsln40alov.jpg

Sorry about the crappy pictures!

Any advice, criticisms welcome :)

Hi everyone,

I still have to put the tracks on, but quite a bit of progress with the diorama.

This is the base plan

P1250829_zpsgs0a9qfi.jpg

And again

P1250825_zpsw4yitx7m.jpg

I have added walls to the workshop, but no photos of it yet sorry :(

P1250830_zpskwx1vbnn.jpg

I'm sure this will be useful for something, but I don't know what....

P1250828_zpsztsmxiin.jpg

All for now!

Help with the dio will be much appreciated :)

Sorry for the wait, another small update here. Unfortunately I'm having a few technical difficulties and can't post photos for the time being, but the workshop walls have had a coat of tamiya XF-26 deep green, but I still am looking for a colour for the concrete. ATM my only real choices are Humbrol 64 Light grey (enamel & acrylic) but I'm looking for a better colour. Made a couple of extra wheels, posters, fuel cans (ish) and some shells to add to the base. And a light switch :)

All for now
