Bombardier CRJ-200 - 1:144 BPK

Air Canada Jazz

This kit was released earlier this year and Reviewed here It followed on from their earlier kit of the CRJ-100 This build has been almost finished for a couple of months now, but work commitments have been keeping me from my bench more than I would like. I finally got the finishing touches of photo etch on this week.

crj2-1.jpg

These are lovely little kits with an innovative solution for the glazing. The nose section is moulded in clear and the side windows are clear strips with masks provided for the windows.

On this release the 'Jazz' titles and maple leaf on the tail are also masks, allowing you to do the red or green versions. The tail logos are supplemented with decal 'leaf veins' for detailing. I am extremely impressed with them. They needed care applying to the fuselage, but look absolutely brilliant once done. It gives that 'painted on look' becasue they are!
Enough words, on with the photos;

And 'With something else' its brother the dash 100 in 'Delta Connection;

A little extra to show the fuselage & tail masks in process;

Now we have the 1:72 vesrion also. :Tasty: This has the 'Jazz' stencils as well. I'll be doing the green version this time.

Thanks for looking

John

Looks brilliant.

A very nice build and a lovely scheme

To my surprise I never heard of this kit before :shrug:

I guess I will have to ask at my local model shop for this one...

Top work

Hi John,

Nice looking CRJ you've got there!

I like the innovative approach BPK have taken with their kits. At first I thought they had got the nosewheel size wrong but they really are that small.

Might have to look for one of these at Telford. I see them at MAN occasionally though not in Jazz colours!!

Cheers,

Ian

Beautiful kits, a few innovative ideas too, I like the clear nose section. Could be tempted by their bigger 737-200!

It'll look good next to that Brittania. Soon? :bleh:

Great result achieved. Very innovative approach - who would have thought there would be additional ways to making a model airliner. For some reason, I thought BPKs were all 1/72 - so now I have some shopping to do.

Again John, great work, on the both of them.

Cheers,

Mike

If you don't have any luck at your local shop I got my kit (unstarted so far) from Scalehobby-eu who sell on Ebay.uk. They're based in the Czech Republic.

Nice build.

Seen the real one during a trip to Canada.

I have the Canadian North boxing of their 737-200, but not game enough to start it yet.

The aircraft depicted in that kit, flew on it in 2013.

Plenty of reference photos.

Lovely build John

It had to be done Neil even though I'm leaving myself open to abuse from the pair of you.

It is still a lovely little model John.
