Mixvs Minimax
Salve! And now something completely different: K-123, a Pr. 705 /Alfa class submarine by HobbyBoss, 1/350. The kit is ok. I only added the rods infront of the intakes and plates and rods on the "outtakes". The Alfas are made from Titanium, so there should be no rost. Furthermore images shows a lot of scars and paint-free areas. I guess, the Titanium and the paint didn't liked each other. I decided to paint a lot of algue on the hull, because the subs mostly hang around in the early 90s. Note the gull sh*t on the rudder. cheers Alex Edited October 12, 2015 by Mixvs Minimax
Flankerman
Excellent paint finish - you captured the fouling on the lower hull perfectly. .... and the gull droppings on the rudder is the icing on the cake, so to speak. Ken
Jessica
That looks really excellent! What did you use for the cages on the water intakes?

Gimme Shelter
That's a really nice kit you have built and painted there - the stern looks a pit pooh though ! - only joking - it looks fantastic and your gulls have added the final touch of realism
Snitok1983
Nice work! I have seen a couple of the Golden fishes at the northen fleet. There is no any painted over titanium because te sub was covered by the rubber.

Mixvs Minimax
Thanks at all. @Snitok: Negativ. The Alfa-class subs were not covered with rubber. Rubber covers the subs of the Akulas, Kilo (Pr.636), Lada, Oscars, Sierras, Typhoons, Victors and Yasen as well as the overhauled Deltas. The Alfa was designed to be very fast. Every additional kg was one kg to much. And if thats is not enough: Where You see rubber on the sub?
Snitok1983
Well, may be it is a shame on me... i did not touch her but that break-able pattern looks like a rubber breaks like this one (she was touched by me!)))
Mixvs Minimax
Huijuiiiiiiii.....Thats a great pic as a base for scratching it in 1/144. Thanks! You may have taken pictures of the emblem? Or that of Dmitrow and Vuiborg?

Learstang
Beautiful work on the submarine! That's a very sleek machine. If there were one in 1/72nd scale, I might give it a go (I know - it would be huge!). Regards, Jason

Be warned that the brand name is also a description, and that much of the kit is pretty fictional given that the masters were created during the Cold War... Anyone seen any of these before? Prices surprisingly reasonable for such large scale.
