Madmonk
T2 Judgment Day – The Future War T800 Endoskeletons Special Edition Plated Chrome Effect 1:32 Scale – Pegasus Hobbies ‘The future is not set. There is no fate but what we make for ourselves.’‘Machines have taken control of the planet. Humans have been targeted for termination. The future of mankind rests with the resistance fighters. Made up of Soldiers and the remaining human survivors, the resistance fights for man’s survival.’Pegasus Hobbies are well known for their ‘off the beaten track’ subject selection when it comes to their range of Sci-Fi kits and this one is no exception. Taken from the second movie in the Terminator franchise, T2 Judgment Day this kit gives you 5 x 1:32 scale T800 Endoskeletons and a Future Wars inspired base. The KitOn opening the 2 part box there are 3 bags of sprues, one for the base and two for each of the 5 Endoskeletons. There is also a 4 sided instruction sheet. The part count is high with a total of 85 parts across the 11 sprues. This kit is a limited edition version in which the Endoskeleton parts have been given a dark chrome plated finish. Construction will be fairly simple and is well illustrated in the instructions. The two part base is nicely detailed, the main section having plenty of human skulls to pick out. The second part is a destroyed archway that again is nicely moulded and lots of detail to work with when painting. Each of the 5 T-800 Endoskeletons are constructed from 17 parts which are moulded across 2 sprues, there are 10 sprues in total for the T-800s. The parts are nicely moulded with plenty of detail for a small figure. The special edition chrome plating is very well done with no blemishes apparent on any of the parts. The gates on the sprues have been well thought out and the majority of them will not be visible on the finished figures. There are a couple of nice touches, the first is an alternative right lower arm which enables the builder to have different poses on some of the Endoskeletons. The second is the peg joint assembly for the limbs which again allows for some different poses, adding variety to the finished build. ConclusionThis is a fairly simple kit though the part count is high due to the parts in each figure. Detailed painting of the base will bring it to life (or death with the number of skulls on it!).One for the dedicated Terminator fans. John.R
Been looking at this one for a while now, as the local model shop has this in stock... Perhaps one for one of the many possible futures!
