Do any of my fellow plastic nuts out there have any info. as to wether this kit will ever get off the ground?.

My HK B17 is feeling lonely.

PS. Im licensed to say "Plastic Nut ", having been one since the 1940 s.

Hi

I imagine it may depend on how the mosquito sells, the company would have to see a fair return for the investment to convince sales ....

or it maybe another american aircraft ?

but thats just my thinking

it would be interesting if tamiya did a 1:32 lancaster as well :)

cheers

There was one built up at telford last year, so i would think it wouldn't be too much longer. Maybe a release just in time for the Telford show this year?

Either way, it looked great (and big!). I wouldn't have anywhere to put it (let alone a bench big enough to build it, or a wallet deep enough to buy it) but i would love one.

Yeah, not too sure how much the Mossie would do for it.. It is supposedly *done* and a done model would probably be released? Sooner or later, usually atleast. :)

Of the big bottom bombers this one is the one I would pick frst I guess so here is one hoping it is sooner rather than later.. :)

Thanks Fellas,

Nick !, I didn't see the Lanc. at Telford in the flesh, but according to the reading it was a resin mockup.

Ive always wanted to build one in a big scale ever since having a flight in one as a young air cadet, sat in the W / Ops seat.

They changed their Facebook pic to the Lanc so I added a comment and here is their reply.

Hong Kong Models Co Ltd We are sorry for the delay of project. As we have some problem on R&D stage, where we couldn't have good enough information to carry on. Massive thanks to enthusiastic modeller and friends who provide the information and drawing we needed. That I am happy to tell. Lancaster is on the way. We will keep you update. Thanks.

...and the £330 / $500 price tag ?? :crosseyed:

Hi

Well the mossies are pretty much the same price

so presumably any HK/ Tamiya lancaster would be similarly priced as well

cheers

I bought the Tamiya Mossie and HKM'S B- 25 'Strafer' at £140 and and £360 because I bought a bucketful of Eduard PE AM and resin parts. The Mossie is going OOB and the B-25 will get the full hit. I don't begrudge a bean of of it.

Really !?? In today's conversion £330 = $500.

My point was that a 1/32 Tamiya Lanc would likely be near twice the price of their Mosquito :o

a 1/32 Lanc. of the same detail and fit of parts, which it no doubt would be,Id

Chaps,

I will be bringing the prototype to Telford again, same model as last year. This was only ever intended to test the general shape.

The nacelle shapes are being reworked at the moment so the model is not up to date at the moment. Possibly 2nd quarter next year.

I dont care to much for the release date. Mainly concerned with an accurate model, overall shape and small details plus a certain simplicity in the build without to much in the way of small parts that will never be seen once closed up.

I suspect you already have details of artwork you will present with the kit but if you are open to ideas???

Hi Ian,

Sorry for the delay in answering.

No details for artwork yet, I support HK Models in providing information about the Lancaster. Last year at Telford I was given the prototype

and it has been at my home since. It is only a mock up to provide a 3D model of what the eventual kit will look like. There is still a lot of tweaking

going on. HK Models want to do it right, and it might take a bit more time but the wait is worth it. They are very enthusiastic about the Lanc.
