noelh
Just seen on Facebook that Brian Lecomber is gone. No other information. Saw it on Facebook. One of my heroes. i remember him particularly when he took off and produced one of the best aerobatic displays ever just after another pilot spun in and died in front of us. One of the great pilots and a great writer. Edited September 27, 2015 by noelh

Dave Batt
RIP. To endorse the OP, I was stunned when I found out just how good a writer he was in addition to his other talents.
Mark
Having seen Brian fly many, many times over the years I am very saddened to read this news. RIP and my thoughts are with anyone more closely attached than me, a mere fan of his display work.
T-21
I invited Brian to speak at a Booker Gliding Club dinner in 2003. I picked him up from his home and he signed a copy of "Dead Weight " my favourite book by him. His signing was Nigel, May all your troubles be: followed by the Aresti symbol for a triple roll. A great aerobatic pilot who knew his trade . Happy memories of a very modest gentleman.

melvyn hiscock
Brian's funeral was on 9 October at St Peter's in Great Missenden. There was a missing man formation consisting of Alan Walker in a Pitts S2, Stu Goldspink in a Pitts S1, Chris Jesson in a Stampe and John Taylor in an Extra 300, all significant aeroplanes in Brian's career. We did try and get G-AYWT and G-IIII, as these are ex-Brian aeroplanes, but we could not get in contact in time. However, true to Firebird Aerobatics tradition, the flypast was right on time (30 seconds late and the customer use to get it free) and JT streaming smoke pulled and departed.https://www.facebook.com/melvyn.hiscock/videos/10153187553154607/
