DominikS
Those early Spitfires look interesting but I wonder if the forms are completely new and full metal or re-tooled old forms and matalized. Nevertheless, I'll probably buy one Mk.V to check. It would be great to have Mr. Muzikant here with some photos of forms.

TEMPESTMK5
Good afternoon Good news for the Spifires Fans worldwide , but what about the P51D-5 Mustang announced with the Kp familly of Mustangs ? Patrice
Giorgio N
Why no love for the Mk. Vc? This is something I've often wondered myself ! The Vc has served in many theatres carrying many colour schemes and yet it's one of the least represented Spitfire variant in kit form. In any case, I'll sure grab a couple of these, will be interesting to compare them to the existing Spitfire kits. Personally I feel that the definitive 1/72 Spitfire I/II has yet to be produced, could this be the one ? PhantomBigStu
are these new tools or just reruns of the AZ ones?
Giorgio N
are these new tools or just reruns of the AZ ones? Their Facebook page mentions HQT tools, so should be new and comparable to the AZ Spitfire IX in quality
PhantomBigStu
sounds good, not yet sampled the spit 9 series though looks fantastic from the sprues
Procopius
Why no love for the Mk. Vc? Well, in the limited-run arena, Sword pretty much sewed that one up. Hopefully Airfix will release a mainstream one someday, but they seem to be avoiding 1/72 Spitfires for a spell, to my disappointment.

DominikS
Giorgio I feel the same. In my opinion there isn't ultimate and definite Spitfire Mk.I/II nor Mk.V. I remember that Spitfire Mk.IX made by AZ Model based on short run Spitfire VIII which is clearly visible on the parts but I really hope that these kits won't base on short run models. And I must agree that avoiding Spitfire Mk.Vc is really awkward. Of this new, I hope, models I'll start with Mk.Vb 'cos all my recent Spitfires were Mark One all DG/DE camo. Now I need some grey colours on my shelf. I keep my fingers crossed for these models but I'd like to see the moulds. And I still look forward to Eduard's Spitfires. Graham Boak
I believe this is the first release of a kit specifically as the Mk.IIB - unless this was an option with the AZ tooling?
Beard
I believe this is the first release of a kit specifically as the Mk.IIB - unless this was an option with the AZ tooling? There were IB, IIB, VB, VB (clipped wings) and VI boxings of the original AZ release.
Procopius
Hopefully they've spruced up the spinners a bit. I felt like the Mk II/rotol spinner in particular looked off.
Greenshirt
There were IB, IIB, VB, VB (clipped wings) and VI boxings of the original AZ release. And they were all the same sprues. So you get any choice of the above marks presuming you have the decals sourced. The Sprues contain bumps that allow a reasonably accurate "cannon armed Mk I" if one wants something slightly different. Subtle, but different; modeling skills required. Tim They all have the 'V' cannon 'bumps', so the modeller has to do some filing to make a IB... I hope the wings don't have the bumps but are seperate parts because I'm a lazy so-and-so. The wooksta V2.0
IIRC, the older version had the bulges separate. Don't have one to hand to check. Hmmm. I can see my wallet being unhappy with this.

I'm building one now; you have to saw or sand off the underwing Vb bulges.
Truro Model Builder
Interesting that on the painting guide for the Mk.IB and the Mk.VB they state Humbrol 195 for dark green, but no.30 on the Mk.IX.
DominikS
Just read some info about these models. As I thought, they're gonna be old moulds with some correction to some parts and they are going to be metalized. So I think it's going to be"shorter run" model. I was really hoping that Mr. Petr Muzikant would make completely new forms.
