Evalman
Operating from Newquay for the last couple of weeks has been this AW159 Wildcat Mk.210; 15-0603 wearing the UK serial ZZ543 prior to delivery to the Republic of Korea Navy. It appears to have been 'christened' Pepsi Wildcat by locals, can't think why?
Paul J
Thats nice! Pepsi ... something to do with the national insignia maybe And in one pic, in the background, there appears to be an Algerian Lynx on the ground.
tonyot
I like that `Pepsi',.....it took me a second or two to get it mind you! Great pics and I wonder why Westlands are using Newquay,...is it for foreign aircrew training on the type? I didn`t even know that there were any expert orders for the Wildcat yet! Cheers Tony

That is indeed an Algerian Navy Super Lynx, one of 4 (ZK191, ZK192, ZK193 and ZK194) that have operated from Newquay on and off since April this year. During that time they have trained AW101 aircrew for the Algerian Navy, Indian AF and Nigerian AF: also aircrew for Algerian Navy Super Lynx and Korean Wildcat.
