shood23
Hi guys and girls this is my latest build. Ever since this kit came out I have had it in my stash (2 of them actually I have built one already) then when Michael Schumacher had his skiing accident at the end of 2013 I wanted to make this into the best model that I could so as you will see in the pictures below I have got a lot of extra bits to make the base kit better. Right so on with the build The obligatory box shot On the the extras I have a new wheel a brake system Photo etch With the above bits I also have the tobacco barcode decals and the exhaust tips So having already made this kit once I can happily say it isn't one of fujimis best attempts, actually from the ones I have made it is by far the worst thought out as you will see by the modifications I have made A quick mock up of the main body parts I cut the rear section off of the engine cover that supports the rear wing, on my fist attempt of this kit this was a problem area for fitment Then I went a step further and cut the engine cover off of the monocoque which was moulded as one big bit, really bad move fujimi Then on top of the I cut the fuel filler cap off One of the main boo boos with this kit is the front section goes together, under the red areas is a black inner part that if you follow the instructions would leave a massive join line down both side of the body So I cut the cockpit section out to ease the later construction The nose cone has been put together The side pods areas a really badly thought out as the bottom section need to be attached to the floor and the rest to the engine cover The upper front suspension arms have been cut up so they can be connected once painted Thanks for lookin More to come soon Shaun
MetroRacing
I'm not really interested in F1 kits. Much too complex and way too much carbon fibre lol. But this is looking to be a build to watch so I will take my seat 💺 lol. Keep up the good work

shood23
Some more done on this today as with a few other builds The nose and body bits have had the etch parts stuck on in the right place The floor has had carbon added to it The engine has been painted alclad duraminium and mocked together with the exhausts which have been painted alclad steel I am just making a start with the after market wheels The centre section of the floor has had the legality plank added, needs dirtying up a tad though The radiator bits have been painted alclad white aluminium The parts that are going to be white have been primed grey and then white The body bits have been primed pink ready for the zero paint 04-06 ferrari red Aswell as most of the other pink bits here It's been a busy old day for modelling today let's hope the weather and my enthusiasm continues Shaun

I haven't put carbon on everything just the bits I will have on show once done The body has also been painted and will have decals put on tomorrow then it's on to the wheels and suspension Shaun
shood23
A lot more has been done to this build recently As you can tell in my previous updates I am using a lot of carbon on this car, well beings as I am going to all this effort on the floor and internals I thought it would be pretty dumb of me not to do the suspension arms, so that is what I have done Front upper wishbone The rear end has been carboned on all suspension elements and glued into place, I did make one small mistake which is on the drive shaft shroud when putting the carbon on I made the join line on the wrong side it was ment to be on the underside so it would have been invisible but now it's on the top but will be slightly hidden by the wing stays that go almost 0n top of them I have also given the rear hub/brake ducts a carbon treatment and I just have to say I am properly happy with how it's turned out with all those complex curves, given the fact it was done top half of it the bottom instead of trying to do it in a million different bits The airbox is now fully finished bar a few small painted bits And the tub is now fully finished after I put on the left side radiator properly The engine has also bee most finished now And last the rims have been given a coat of alclad white aluminium, the rims to the left are this cars rims the other are the ones for my f1 2000 build Thanks for lookin and more soon Shaun
Spookytooth
The carbon fibre decals really give it that edge Shaun. Looking rather good I would say. Simon

shood23
Thanks for the kind words guys the carbon hasn't been as hard as I was expecting but that may just be due to micro sol and the other half's hairdryer Shaun
shood23
More has just been done The engine is more or less finished now And has now been secured to the floor like the gearbox but the tub and radiators are just sitting Now on to the body work I have got all of the decals on to the major body parts now as can be seen below starting with the nose cone And the monocoque And I must say that micro sol once again came to the rescue with the barcode decal that sits over the air scoop ahead of the driver as it's sat down over all those curves perfectly And the engine cover has been done Including cutting through the Vodafone and acer decal for the bit that attaches to the floor And here's the bit for the floor I'm talking about And for the last picture of this post I couldn't resist a mock up just to see kind of how it will look when done All the body parts how need to be clear coated again so more should be done soon Shaun

shood23
Thanks Simon it's coming along ok So here's what has been done over the past weekish I got the rear end plates painted, decalled and clear coated I did a bit more work on the wheels With my new understanding of how to use zero paints white properly I have pushed on with the white parts of the wings and barge boards And I finished clear coating some of the main body parts Engine cover Nose cone And monocoque And lastly there are a few subtle changes on the inner parts More soon Shaun
shood23
It's about time I updated this I made a start to the seat by giving it some texture the n coming up with a mix of blacks, greys and a couple of other colours for the fabric look colour The engine cover has had the exhaust exits painted in a different concoction of greys and blacks for the heat resistant coating f1 use around the exhausts, I have also painted the outside face of the aero flick up to the rear and added silver foil to the inside of the cover The tub has now been glued to the floor and I modified the mounting points on the part that goes over this to make stocking together easier That's it for now but I should soon have a completed (almost) car Shaun
shood23
So time for a progress report The seat is now finished and installed The front part of the body has been stuck to the chassis I have been working on the barge boards Then they got stuck to the car I made a start to the front hubs And I have finished the engine cover by sticking the fins on the sides And lastly I have been putting the finishing touches to the front suspension arms Hopefully I should have it on wheels later Shaun

shood23
Thanks Simon looking at it its been worth the effort but I can't see myself going to this extent again. Right so here's where I am with the car I got the rear wing finished and on the car and at the same time I added a few more details the the rear suspension More carbon decal has been used on the front bulkhead I couldn't resist a quick mock up with the nose Then after I started to add all the little flicks and camera mounts the nose cone I got the brake discs and axles stuck on so now it stands on its own wheels I have also made a start on the fuel filler cap by painting the inside of it florescent green/yellow More soon Shaun
Spookytooth
That looks great Shaun. The back end looks tight and right. As for he C/F decals, that is a delight yet to try (2 kits in the stash with them.) If I can get a half as good a job done on them I will be happy. Simon. shood23
I would use another word than delight lol something I can't put on here if you get my drift So this is really starting to drag on now personally as I keep forgetting to put the last clear onto the front wing secondary plane so I can't get the wing stuck together until I do and I keep finding little bits to fiddle with as you will see later in this post. Firstly you will have to excuse the picture quality I broke my normal light so these have been taken with the room light instead, which as you will see is much darker So first up is the engine cover has now been completed ad I got round to finishing off the beam wing at the rear end of it And the nose has had the last of the little extra bits stuck on just need to get the last wing plane done as said above then I can get the end plates on and call it done The first of the many little bits that have been carbon decalled, the t camera And another is the brake cover or as ted kravits calls it the biscuit tins The disc covers went on as well a a couple of p/e parts And the front one Last but by no means least I have been working on the wheels, I have to say the fujimi tyre decals are very hard to work with so I nicked the spare set I had from my defunct redbull build More soon, hopefully a completed front wing lol Shaun
Riggers
Hi Shaun, Just such a sweet job there on the Ferrari. Can I ask as to what manufacturer/type/code of C/F you're using? Looks soooooo good on that scale car. ATB.........
