PhantomBigStu
Picked up the Hasegawa Strike Eagle, I know they are painted FS36118, refered to as Gunship Grey. I have revell Aqua 74 called gunship grey amoungst my paints, would that be suitable? Or should I go for one of the brands that quote the correct FS code? AdriaN (MLT)
Hah I was recently wondering the same thing! I'm building the revell f15 & it suggested the aqua dark gray. I bought it thinking it's correct colour... well, no its not,bit too light, so I bought it for nothing!
PhantomBigStu
What a coincidence this thread has popped up now, working on my 2nd attempt at the same kit, never used the aqua in the end, out and brought something quoted as fs36118, but never compared them
AdriaN (MLT)
My instruction sheet says fs36118 on the paint page also, but the funny thing is this fs translates to the dark gray which is NOT the dark gray used on f15s! so something is wrong here. My best option would be to use model master gunship gray, same fs number, colour looks correct. Edited April 20, 2016 by AdriaN (MLT)
Giorgio N
Model master paints are probably the best when it comes to modern US colours and their line of FS matched paints is very accurate. The FS however is correct, F-15Es are painted in 36118...

Revell really f*ck things up somtimes. instructions says that 36118 is revell aqua dark gray... i did my research and found 36118 on their paint chart is actually marked down as revell aqua gunship gray!! so why did they say to use dark gray?! AdriaN (MLT)
They look the same to me! Thankfully I have the model master gunship, so I will be using that. Looks just like those 2.
