shood23
Right now the skyline is done with I thought that after doing so many things with doors I will go back to making f1 cars So this is what I have: the base tamiya kit Top studio full detail set Scale motor sport carbon decals Tabu Marlboro decals Studio 27 japan gp conversion wing set This will be made up as the Schumacher car, you can't make a car that won the championship as the second driver, not sure about the time frame due to needing to buy the paints from Hiroboy asap and the amount of work I want to put in to it. But saying that this is where I am upto and the bits I have All the little extras The top studio set The studio 27 front wing (the tamiya one is arrow shaped) And now with what I have done I have stuck the monocoque together and cut off the nose cone mounting point ready for the detail parts The nose cone is a bit odd as it's made up all in 1 apart from the wing pillars The engine cover has been made up And I have put the 2 halves of the engine together and mock fitted it to the floor More to come soon Shaun
shood23
Right so a lot more to show on this build now The eninge has been painted alclad duraminium The floor pan had been primed and painted red, the next step is to mask off some areas and paint black then I can get on with some decals The main body parts have been painted zeros pre 2004 ferrari red And all the parts that are red in this picture are associated with this build More to come soon Shaun
Jim Frahm
My very first Tamiya model was a 1/20 scale F1 car. It's probably one of the best sizes for scale details without being overdone. Looking good so far! Jim
shood23
Thanks Jim A small amount has been done on this today, not much but it's tomorrow that this should progress massively The exhausts have been painted alclad steel and mocked to the engine to see how they look Apart from this today has been a day of finishing up the painting from yesterday and getting bits ready for tomorrow Shun

shood23
Thanks for the kind words Roger Right so on with the build The floor pan is almost done just a few decals needed to finish it off The nose cone has had all decals put on bar the Ferrari badge, I like to put the Ferrari logos on last it's one of those odd traits I have The engine cover is almost done as well just missing the marl from Marlboro and the fedex decals, which I might add are being a pain in the butt The main tub has been decalled as well minus the Ferrari badges And a quick mock up before finishing The body is now finished I have added carbon to the front bulkhead as well to give it a more real look And last the rim have been done. the ones for this build are on the right, the others are for my 248 f1 build Thanks for looking Shaun

shood23
Thanks for the comments guys So finally I have been able to persuade the other half to let me bring the drying cabinet in from the conservatory so now all my modelling bits are within a small space as just behind the cabinet on the other side of the window is my drying box so it makes life more efficient So on with the build and a bit of bad news. I dropped the car in between coats of clear but the damage isn't that noticeable so I will carry on and to top that off the clear coat has eaten/wrinkled the carbon decals on the floor for some reason Here is the monocoque, the main damage is to the lower suspension mounting point at the front of the car and to where the camera pod will go but this will be hidden when done so not to much of a problem Just need to polish up the body then I can start work on the greasy bits of the car Thanks for looking Shaun
