1/72 hasegawa VF-19 25th annervisry edition

Recommended Posts

managed to finish this off last week, despite issues with at first trying to find the colour listed . I then had to strip as the paint I choose went terribly wrong. but was a blessing in disguise as happy with the end colour.

the build itself was pretty straight forward had a few large seam lines on the rear engine housings which was able to fill, and the other was the decals there was over 100 of them and were like a metallic type, which at times were a nightmare to get to lay down smoothly and was hard to find a matching paint!!!!

the base was one I made as wanted to do inflight, did aim to have it flying straight up but couldn't get it to stay in place,

Very nice. The UNS kite is foam core?

I don't think I'll be brave enough to attempt this kit in the native scheme. Might do a low viz with the leftovers from another Macross VF.

hi yes used foam board for the kite.... I di have 2 other VF-19s in the stash along with about 12 others and some battleroids which plan to do one of next....

nicely made and finished model - but please excuse myself as I am unfamiliar with this craft

no worries it s from the Japanese anime series Macross which originated from Robotech. which in a way was a type of transformers that were mainly aircraft. you will find thought a lot of the macros jets are based on us navy squadrons and schemes.

Sorry batcode, but Cimmerian is right. Robotech is made from 3 different tv shows;

  1. The Super Dimension Fortress Macross
  2. Super Dimension Cavalry Southern Cross
  3. Genesis Climber MOSPEADA

Robotech was released in 1985 and Macross first aired in 1982. Even to this day Harmony Gold are still in hot water about releasing it. Also you'll see some of the Macross designs in Battletech/Mechwarrior. I remember watching it as a kid, was the first show where one of the main characters died (R.I.P Roy Fokker)... but anyhow this doesn't distract from the fact its a really cool model. I like the base also, thinking of making one for my Valkyries when I get around to them.

Kind Regards,

Dazz
