Mark
Here's a quick share of a photo I took of tonight's 'Super Moon' from my back garden in France. No telescope was harmed in the taking of this photo. Just a Nikon DSLR, a 300mm lens and a 2x teleconverter. Hope you like it!
Mike
That IS super. Nice photo of a beautiful but desolate place I'd love to visit
Black Knight
Loverly Is that a B-17 in that crater on the lower right?
Mark
I've looked and looked, but I can't spot it, are you sure it's there?
Natter
That is definitely ripe for some photshop wizardry - maybe to add a B-17 somewhere.

cmatthewbacon
From this: ...to that, in only 405 years! (The above is from Thomas Harriot's moon map. Harriot, an Englishman, was actually the first person -- not Galileo -- to view and draw the moon though any kind of telescope, never mind a 300mm lens with a 2x teleconverter) Great image, and I'm with Mike. Next to visiting, though, it's worth investing in "Full Moon", by Michael Light... http://www.michaellight.net/fm-images bestest, M.

woody37
Great pic Mark. I'm sure I read somewhere that there is a bus in there somewhere, don't know how accurate the sources are though!!!!
Alan P
The crater at about 6 o'clock is a real belter. Look at the ejecta splash. Must have been like getting hit by a sniper round. Great photo mate. Al
Mark
I don't know what all the fuss was last night. I got up at 0310hrs and sat up to wait for the celestial event of the last 30 odd years. What we got here in France was more 'Snot Moon' than 'Blood Moon..'
Black Knight
Well, I stayed up and watched some of it, but the colour cast was lost on me, it just looked smokey dark.
