Bod
Maybe a silly question, but any experts out there who can advise which colour white would be best for a Lancia Rallye 037, circa 1984? Hasegawa suggest good old Gunze H2, but I'm hoping I can get a bit closer than that, maybe a close Fiat match in Halfrauds? Thanks..
MetroRacing
I doubt whether Abarth who build all the 037's used a specific Fiat colour. More likely they just used a generic white. Cheaper and quicker than mixing up a certain shade. But if you want a Fiat white then maybe research the white used on the Delta Integrale's? vince14
From all the pictures I've seen, it's just a 'standard' gloss white. If it helps, for their new 1/12 kit Model Factory Hiro also recommend Gunze H2.
Bod
Thanks guys, what you say makes sense and looking at an example at the recent Carfest event it does just look a standard 'white', if that sounds right? Thanks again.
MetroRacing
No problem. I for one am hoping this 037 will be shown on the forum once assembly commences
Bod
I'll do my best. As an added bonus, Hannants are selling off the Hasegawa etched detailing set, around £3.50 I think I paid.
MetroRacing
Ahhh why is it when I have no money everywhere has a sale. I have about 5 037's and the etch for them all is gonna cost
Bod
Hannants, upgrade set, £3.20, 20+ in stock. Less than the cost if a pint. I feel a group build coming on...
MetroRacing
I'm gonna have to look into that tomorrow and see if I can scrape some cash together. Sounds too tempting to pass on lol
TonyG
Paint-wise Not sure if it's helpful but on my Lancia StratosI used a rattle can of Fiat snow white (I think) from Halfords. Bought it originally for a Lancia Delta (a real one - HF Martini, still missed on occasion) so the colour is probably as accurate as it can be. I'm aiming to use it on my 037 when I get a round tuit. Bod
Thanks Tony G, that's the sort of thing I had in mind, I'll have a stroll around halfrauds at the weekend.
TimV1969
I always use FIAT White, paint code 210, which is available from Halfords and I'm sure I have seen somewhere (but can't recall where) is the correct code for the Delta at least. It looks right to me, anyway!
