Dettol as paint remover

So the above is a godsend.

I can personally vouch for this method - I haven't even had to leave it on overnight!

2 hours and it's done! So I've thrown some more pieces in there now.

My question is - can I 'paint' the dettol over paint and will it remove it that way? My A380 engines are far too blue now for the BA blue, and the detailing underneath is going missing due to a white gloss that I originally used for Airbus colours.

Any ideas would be lovely!
