David Womby
I've been in Nova Scotia for a few weeks and have now visited 3 air museums. All are smaller than, say, Hendon or Yeovilton but all worth a visit. They are all supported by volunteers and have no admission charges but ccept donations. The Atlantic Canada Aviation Museum http://atlanticcanadaaviationmuseum.com/ is right by Halifax Airport. Highlights for me were the CF-101, CF-104 and CF-5 plus the Canso (Catalina) they are busy restoring. They also have a Jetstar and a huf=ge model display. The shop there has a large stock of new and secondhand kits and books and magazines ( I picked up some good books and old copies of SAM).Greenwood Military Aviation Museum http://www.gmam.ca/ is next to CFB Greenwood (I saw a lot of EH101 flying while I was there). The highlight has to be their Lancaster but they have a a beautiful Anson, Neptune, Argus, T-33 and C-47 plus a Bolingbroke in restoration.Today I went to Shearwater Aviation Museum http://www.shearwateraviationmuseum.ns.ca/. Great collection of RCN aircraft - T-33, Harvard, Tracker, Avenger, Banshee, S-55, Firefly FR1 and a Swordfish. Also and nearly finished and very impressive 1:1 Hurricane replica built from wood. Here's a few pics and there are a few more here http://s147.photobucket.com/user/dwomby/library/Shearwater%20Aviation%20Museum.Is this the last remaining piece of a Supermarine Stranraer - one prop? The SwordfishThe Hurricane replica - the fuselage was mounted to the wing centre section today.David

foresterab
Give my regards to the Citadel in Halifax...and the Lower Deck if you can survive . Fun times on the east coast with many a museum to see. CFB Gagetown isn't far away (8 hours I think) if you're into armour stuff as well.
