Spookytooth
Coming along fine Shaun, C/F decals abounding. It is annoying when companies put details into the build which at times cannot be seen. But, we still paint them with the same dedication and patience as the rest. Simon. shood23
I know what you mean Simon, this build is based on a guy I know on Facebook who managed to get hold of a clear body of the same kit from aoshima as a pre production test run, I think it was him and a very few number got them to see if they could me made into anything good before aoshima decided not to make them due to costs. But I would genuinely kill someone to get hold of the clear body now if one hasn't yet been started. Shaun
shood23
So a little more of this car done I have done some work on the from end while the body parts clear coat is curing More needs to be done detail wise before I can call it finished More work has been done in the engine bay. Gold foil has been added and wires have been put in places. The actual engine has been glued into place now aswell And another And lastly the cam covers have been added and the gear box has now been glued into place with the cooling ducts for the rear brakes More soon Shaun

larchiefeng
This is starting to come together nicely and you're really packing a lot of detail in a small space.
shood23
Thanks guys it is nice to get a bit of time in this odd few days after Xmas and before new year to work on this kit, which sowing need the extra bits I've added as it would build really great straight from the box. Where this is now coming to somewhere near the end my next big choice is what to build next and I'm torn between my Xmas prezzie from the other half, an aoshima mclaren mp4/2 with the detail parts, a fujimi Ferrari f2012 or 2010 with carbon sets and etch or something quick like a revell/tamiya porsche 962 done properly with the revell front and tamiya rear with no engine detail in either rothmans or fortuna livery. Hmm decisions decisions Shaun
shood23
Right one last update before the year is out I got the rear uprights painted in alclad white aluminium before putting the rather colourful suspension bits on The brakes have been completed bar the brembo decals and a few spots of paint on the nuts The body has been clear coated and is now fully dry, I've started some of the extra work need on it already Carbon decals started to go around the door frames I've also started to stick on the many etch nuts and fasteners And lastly made a start to the rear end, I went round the lights with a sharpie marker More soon and happy new year to all you modellers Shaun

shood23
Thanks Roger the more I do to it the more I like it, this I by far one of the best thought out kits on the market at the point it goes together so easily. So the luxury of working from home is I can fiddle with this when ever I want and beings today I worked my butt off I managed to finish up early giving me plenty of time to work on this so prepare yourselves for probably one of the biggest updates of the whole build. So this is where the mega update starts. The carbon work around the door frames has now been finished. The headlights have been done also, now I just need to keep them clean The outside parts of the doors are also now complete minus the window, that will go in last as I don't want to have to keep wiping my paw prints off it Talking of paw prints this picture of the finished windscreen demonstrates perfectly what I mean lol look at the finger prints, you could frame me for murder with them The exhaust mid pipes have been stuck on and a few more detail bits added to the engine I've made a start to the brakes/ gearbox cooling ducts ( paint and more carbon that is) Also I have finished the cooling outlet for the rear end Tyres have been stuck to the rims and decals added just a few more minor details to add now This is a really bad picture but of a very small (about 2mm by 3 mm) but very important bit, well one of 6 bits And these were made from kerplunk sticks and a couple of bits of 0.5 mm wire for some again equally important under body bits And lastly one last bit of scratch built pieces, it's the brain of the car I believe More should become apart in the next update about the last few pictures More hopefully soon Shaun
Spookytooth
Nice work Shaun, as usual , your C/F decals abound, they look smart. I presume the last few pics were of the engine management boxes and sensors. Simon.

shood23
Thanks for the kind words guys. Right well it's been a long hard week with work so not much has changed on this recently apart from bits undertake skin A few more wires being prepared, this build by far is using more wires than I ever have done before. My little scratch made control box wrapped in carbon kevlar And all mocked up with the other bits All stuck together now with a few more wires added And finally the whole assembly has been stuck to the floor More carbon work to the very top bit of the engine bay which hasn't been the easiest of tasks but with alot of paper templates made its almost done And finally for this update I have polished off the wheels by adding the tyre decals and flat/satin clear coating over them but I think I did one to many coats as it's a little too shiny for what I wanted and it only get more so with more coats, also I added a few markings of my own for direction and driver More soon Shaun

shood23
Thanks I feel I should invest in scale motorsport after the amount carbon sheets I've gone through recently. But on to the car, the engine bay I am now calling near enough done there's just a few more kit bits that need putting in and the fuel inlets need a dash of paint. More soon hopefully on the interior Shaun
