On ebay I often put in a maximum bid of tuppence above the pound, for example if the maximum I wanted to bid was £10 my then bid would be £10.02. It does seem to work sometimes. I also bid as late as possible.

Sometimes I just use the "fire and forget" method.  Just put in my max bid and go and do something else.  Its much less stressful, avoiding last minute raises or internet glitches.  Or plain forgetting there was something I meant to bid on!

Sometimes I even win.  If I don't there'll usually be another along in time...

anyway I was successful so I shall be entering the mig21 when it arrives.....

Once, I bought an Airfix kit for a mate who's party I was going to and 'felt ill' just before going, so I suggested to my parents that I would have to stay and home and keep the kit - no dice I am afraid as my parents recognised the first signs of addiction.... Not my proudest moment!

Haha I liked that and it made me feel considerably more comfortable with my own sins 👍. Thanks!

Which is fine, till they all come through at once and you have to try and figure how to pay for them all...;)

IMO, there are still some notable kit absences, where is the... Lysander, Siskin, Seafox, Mystere, Buccaneer, Skyservant, Twin Tub Hunter, He70, Skyknight, Chinook, Tiger Moth, Puma, Victor, Privateer and my favourite - the Heyford..

So come on chaps, there's plenty of time left so it's time to dig them out and dust 'em off.

Cheers... Dave

Thanks Rabbit Leader and what a very impressive line up of builds so far, I am feeling really pleased. Once I have finished my various diy and gardening chores I intend to start pulling my weight on this group build and hope to fill in some of the gaps mentioned by Rabbit Leader.

Bernd,

I've put three kits on hold in order to start my Tempest in this GB.

Starting another Matchbox kit before completing your Matchbox Canberra would be akin to heresy.

There's plenty of time left so bash out that PR.9 and then work out which one of the above to tackle next - no distractions OK?

Cheers.. Dave.

Well the small Spitfire's done and the big one's not far behind, the Swordfish is next so with loads of time left I'm commiting to another couple, fancy the

Helldiver(monoplane) and E E  lightning.

Steve,

With all these Matchbox builds, you're gonna make the rest of us plodders look a littkle lame. For the record, I kind of fancy the SB2C and Frightening as well.

Cheers and will look on with interest and envy!!

Dave.

A great list there Dave, if I can get over this lurgy & get A into G, there'll be another to add to the Tempest II/VI one soon. I'm not certifiable enough to start a Stranrayer or a Heyford for a GB. I knows my limits.

Steve.

No probs Steve - looks like the good old Tempy is a popular choice. I'm looking foward to progressing mine in order to start another Matchbox kit.

I concor about the Stranraer & Heyford, hence why mine will still stay well attached to their sprues and in their boxes.

Hope you get well soon.

Cheers.. Dave

The Lizzy’s my pick @Beard.

We still don’t have this kit or Matchbox’s 1/32 scale classic in this GB yet, so you’ll have a unique build there.

Cheers.. Dave

Thanks Dave. I'll be starting the WiP thread later this evening or tomorrow so you'll see. :wicked:

I'd probably choose the Lysander out of those four kits as well. The thing with the 1/72 Lysander kit that I didn't like was the way the wings joined together inside the canopy, in reality the wings did not reach all the way through the canopy but were joined to a kind of A frame arrangement. The Me 109 is also a very nice kit, the Beaufighter not so nice. Never built the Fury.
