Matchbox II GB Chat

The date has been confirmed. It's 7 October 2017 till 10 February 2018

I have missed the first GB a few years ago and have loads of Matchbox kits in my stash that are dying to be build.
You can build planes, cars, AFV's and even ships. So who is up for another one?!

I started my modelling with Matchbox kits and loved them since then!!!!!
They are easy to build and don't take up to much time and under a coat of paint looks very nice.

As long as it's a matchbox kit you are ok. Even the later re-issues from Revell. Like the Stranrear, Sherman Firefly, 1/72 flower class corvette or a 1/32 scale car like the Porsche Le mans racer in martini colours.

I will make a list

Might go for the 1/32 nd planes range.

I would go with the Revell boxings. Old MB kits are still around. But the decals are mostly FUBAR.

With the Revell kits those are OK

Remember the Obsolete Kits GB a while back? Dean, if I remember his name correctly, built an unpainted Matchbox B-17 combining two kits, thus having a six colour model! Needless to say his build got my vote 😊. V-P

On the subject of unpainted kits.

I guess most of the older members started modeling with these MB kits and left them unpainted.

We should encourage to each build one kit unpainted when joining the GB. Or just with the "small paintplan"

This link will help you to pick a subject. If still available...

BTW,there's also the AMT range besides the Revell boxings.

Thanks Erwin for the link.

If someone wants to leave his model unpainted that is fine by me. Only I am also a fan of what can be done with a MB model, by just giving it a small update and a good paint job. So I leave the decision of what the contenders want to do by them selves. Both decicions are fine by me.

My build will be a painted one and maybee with a small update (decals, some resin guns maybee)

What I will build?! I don't know jet. Will see when this get started.

Cheers,
