Max Headroom
There is also the little matter of only having one set of flight cleared engines. Trevor

Truro Model Builder
Stunning footage. I think that the guy organising that petition hasn't got much idea of what really goes into operating something as complex as the Vulcan, frankly. If the design authorities say playtime is over, then that's that.
Max Headroom
Last time I spoke to the display crew they had 6 flyable engines. Was this before or after the accidental ingestion of FOD left in an intake? Trevor
bentwaters81tfw
This was after. They rotate the engines for maximum hours, and RR have telemetry fitted, so the hours are extended by condition rather than a fixed number.

mcdonnell
Hello,Friends - I love the Vulcan Aircraft as much as anyone else on this forum.I have been fortunate to visit them at Scampton and Waddington in their later service days and to visit '558' at the Vulcan Display Flight at Waddington.I been up close and personal with her at Bruntingthorpe and enjoyed seeing her when I've had the opportunity ever since.I treasure those memories and moments. However, she is a grand older lady now and although this may sound selfish of me to say,and I definitely don't wish to be so,I would be much happier to see her superbly maintained (which she will continue to be) and still thrilling us all with her 'Ground Display Runs' safely on Terra Firma rather than perhaps trying to venture towards one step too far?I only wish for the safest and best future for 'XH558'.She may be retiring from the sky but not from delighting us in the future. All the best,Paul.
