dfqweofekwpeweiop4
Just a quick additional note. The new owner of the non paint side of WEM is Tom's Modelworks in California. If you can't find what you want from Sovereign, try ordering from Tom's, I've noticed that Sovereign don't have the Queen Elizabeth etch set (mainly aimed at Trumpter Warspite, with a few extra parts for Barham + Malaya), so I got mine from Tom's. I've also just order Tom's own etch for the Tamiya Saratoga and some British radars and they arrived today. I only ordered them in the middle of last week, so that's pretty good going! thanks Mike
Guest
Try these companies ,used them a lot http://www.avrmodel.com/en/ http://www.atlanticmodels.net/ http://starling-models.co.uk/index.php?
AntPhillips
As I understand it, Sovereign have taken over the Colourcoats paints, everything else went to Tom's Modelworks in the States. Peter Hall who designed a lot of the WEM detail sets has remastered several of them and released them under his Atlantic Models label, see the link in Chewitt's post above. keefr22
As I understand it, Sovereign have taken over the Colourcoats paints, everything else went to Tom's Modelworks in the States. If you check Kev's link Ant, Sovereign are also now listing WEM 1/350 & 700 etch sheets. According to the 'new' WEM website Hannants will also be stocking their stuff. The new WEM are also shown as being at Telford this year. I'm hoping they'll have the sheets I'm missing for the Airfix 1/600 ships I have lurking in the stash! Already stared saving up....!! keith

Hopefully both Hannants and Sovereign will carry the full range of etch and eventually kits and resin bits and that way we'll have a choice of 2 UK stockists. It would also be nice if either of them pick up the Tom's Modelworks range, as they do some handy etch that others don't do. thanks MIke

Not knowing how it would go I went for diversity more than quantity to avoid over stretching. I only got one of the Queen Elizabeth sets first time around and someone snaffled it early on. I'm about to re-order and will be replenishing what's sold plus diversifying a bit more - i.e. more of the 1/700 and 1/350 but also some 1/600. We're getting there. Slowly but surely... dfqweofekwpeweiop4
No worries Jamie, it's good that your importing them, hopefully you'll pick up the kits and resin when they get round to re-releasing them. I did have a pre-order for the 1/700 HMS London, do you know if Tom's intend to release the kits WEM had planned or just the ones WEM had actually released? The Barham set is no good to me as I built the WEM Barham kit about 6 years ago. The QE set is really for Warspite with a few extra bits for Barham and Malaya. I got it for the Warspite and some of the Malaya bits. Someone really needs to do a proper set for QE and Valiant. thanks Mike PS will you be at Scale Scotland? Shar2
From what I've heard, they are only re-releasing the kits that haven't now been done in styrene.
Jamie @ Sovereign Hobbies
What Dave says was the latest I'd heard from WEM pre-liquidation. To the best of my knowledge Richard is a) trying to get restocks of a number of PE sets considering how best to get the resin accessories back on the market. We haven't really talked about the ship kits but I'd be surprised if he'd want to compete against the plastic kits. Even with the flaws in the plastic kits (e.g. comparing the Trumpeter Eskimo to WEM's E class) most modellers either don't care at all or can't reconcile the costs of resin kits. It crossed my mind briefly to cost up a Revenge class in 1/350, but shortly after I read on another forum about someone elses' lovely resin kit of a different subject and the response from most was "great that you've made this kit. Now when will Trumpeter make something approximate for 1/3 the price?", so I canned that notion! I had thought of Scale Scotland, but decided against it. And Telford. I've been a poor father so far this year...
