Radpoe Spitfire
Hi, just a quick ask, I'm currently building a Vulcan as a 1970's Waddington based aircraft. I'm looking at either Humbrol or Revell paints for the upper surface, can anyone help with the best green and grey for the two respective paint ranges please? Also did XH558 operate from Waddington during the early '70's in the green/grey & white colour scheme? Many thanks Adrian
patjb
XH558 has Olympus 200 series engines, I was on the line at Waddington in the mid 70's till the Vulcans folded, bar 9 months away on a training course. The Olympus 200 series engines were all at Scampton and the 300's at Waddington. So it probably never was based at Waddington in the 70's, I am prepared to be proven wrong, ask my wife! Later on she became a tanker and was on 50 Sqdns strength at Waddington.
Darth Vader
Dark green and medium sea grey are the colours you need. Humbroll 163 + 165. Revell only do german colours so you need to mix them, stay away
