Shuttleworth Collection Wings and Wheels (Wheels added!)

Recommended Posts

I love spending time at Old Warden - a perfect antidote to the hustle and bustle of RIAT a few weeks ago.

I have tried to select some images that are not too similar to John R's earlier post.

Wings first, wheels to follow...

Thanks for looking.

(You might just be able to work out which is my favourite Old Warden resident! )

Those are stunning. Difficult to pick a favourite but the Sea Hurricane shots and Gladiator stand out. I also like the aerobatic shot with the smoke from the Pitts(?) - a nice creative shot. Thanks for sharing them.

Hmmmm, Sea Hurricane?! Lovely pictures, my favourite is definitely the Sea Hurricane as it's tucking its gear away.

Err, dead right! Was it that obvious?! I'm pleased that you enjoyed the pictures.

Thanks Latinbear. Like you, my favourites are of the Sea Hurricane and Gladiator. The aerobatic aircraft is indeed a highly modified Pitts S2S flown by a former Tornado pilot .Rich Goodwin who flew 21 Gulf War missions. He is now an airline pilot flying Boeings. He put on an incredible display in the beautiful blue sky, which I tried to capture in the image above.

Thanks Paul. I'm pleased that you enjoyed them. I am a member of the Shuttleworth Veteran Aeroplane Society and try to attend as many Old Warden shows as I can. I just love the combination of wonderful old aeroplanes, beautiful surroundings and (generally) considerate visitors.
