Solo
Finally I would like to present you my latest model of F/A-18A+ Hornet. Academy has made really nice kit with beautifull decals, so my only task was to add something resin and something on my own. I used: - Academy 12520 USMC F/A-18+ 'VMFA-232 RED DEVILS' - Aires engine exhaust nozzles - Eduard's AIM-9L/M and GBU-48 bomb - North Stars' AGM-65 Mavericks - Eduard's BigEd - RBF from Steel Scorpion. I have added some scratch building in wheel bays, cockpit, canopy, arresting hook, landing gear, air brake etc. Used Gunze, Tamiya and Alclad paints, plus many of different weatherting products. Here you can find my WIP. Enjoy!

ForestFan
Obviously a typo, this can't be 1/72!! Fantastic work
Snitok1983
Very well done! The weathering is perfect! I still can't believe that is 72-nd scale!!!
Knight_Flyer
An excellent build. I like how you managed to apply heavy weather and still retain the colourful appearance of the CAG markings.

jrlx
Hi Solo, Excellent model, really stunning paint finish and weathering! I'm bookmarking your WIP and will read it carefully, as I have an Academy F-18D and intend to buy a C or, now that I've seen your model, this same version. Again, congrats on an excellent model Cheers Jaime

I do believe you will not be disappointed - this is really nice and easy to built model. Only the main landing gears and main gears bays are really bad and need substantial corrections.
WildeSau75
Man, this is a top notch build of the Hornet. Great painting and weathering. I like it! Cheers, Michael

AngstROM
Absolutely all you could want from a Hornet! First class finish and weathering; the North Star Mavericks are awesome -I built one in 1/48, and the 1/72 ones are just as beautifully detailed. It's holiday time, and most modelling sites have gone a bit quiet on the Modern Jet front lately (well, compared to the WWII guys who seem to be working double shifts at the moment!) so it's great to see a project of this calibre here on BM. Many thanks for bringing it to us!
