Raven Morpheus
Hey all Meant to ask this on Saturday but forgot about it... I'm finding that gloss paints don't want to go through my airbrushes very well, even when thinned, in particular recently Tamiya clear paints (on Saturday it was their smoke colour), but also Model Master Chevy Engine Red gave me trouble when I did my Bell HTL-4. I find that either they won't spray at all to begin with (which was the case when using my Veda 180 on Saturday), or they quickly clog my airbrush. So, what can I do about it besides thinning, is there some "magic" way of dealing with gloss paints? TIA
colin
What are you thinning them with, and how are you thinning them, I mean in the paint cup or thinned then added to the paint cup. Also have you made sure the nozzle is clean/clear on the airbrush.
BrianI
Are you thinning in a seperate container, then adding it to the airbrush cup? I used to have lots of problems with airbrush clogging till I started doing this. Empty tamiya paint jars make good mixing vessels. Also I find a drop of retarder mixed with water helps too
