4scourge7
Israel has made public it`s use of 12x Spike/Tamuz missiles in M60 tank with a dummy gun, and launcher and sight that rise from the turret. http://sturgeonshouse.ipbhost.com/index.php?/topic/611-magach-based-spike-launcher-officially-unveiled/ Cheers, Ian
Muzz
I'm a bit confused (I know very little about armour), when you read the posts on the linked forum folk seem to think the IDF have been operating this system for 30 + years but only just acknowledged its existence. Is it not the case this is a new system (2-3 years old) mounted on 30 + year old tank hulls?
4scourge7
Israel has operated the M-48 tank since the 1960s, the M-60 tank since the early 1970s and the early versions of the Tamuz/Spike missile since the early 1980s. However, I suspect that matching missile-to-tank is a recent development using the latest, longer range versions of the missile. But with the IDF, you can never be 100% sure.
