ronnierex
1/32 Hasegawa 109F-4 This is the newest version of the 109 in Hasegawa's 32nd range and it is a nice kit. Fit was and engineering was great and building it was a delight. The only annoyance was filling the bulge in the upper wheel bay as the F-4 didn't have the wing bulge for bigger tires. I added an early F resin seat with molded belts. While not super accurate, I really wanted some molded belts. One of the best parts of the kit was the gear leg fit. I seem to comment on this aspect of kits a lot, so bear with me. It's an area that matters a lot to me. I am always worried I'll get the gear angle wrong. The fit of the F's gear legs was almost perfect straight away with only a slight adjustment to the left leg. I painted the kit with MM RLM79 and Mr. Color RLM 78. Future, vallejo, citadel, and Tamiya for the rest. Decals are eaglecals and performed solidly. This is my first 1/32nd build and I've enjoyed it a lot. Due to size, I don't think I'll build many, but I look forward to a few more. Thanks

ronnierex
Thank you folks for all the kind words! I am encouraged and honored. I have learned so much from watching the builds here on britmodeller! absolutely superb - how did you do the streaks underneath as they look really effective? chris Hey Skyhunter, I used MIG AMMO streaking products (which I really really like!) and just painted them on. I found that if you "wipe" the streaks with the airflow, the streaks blend and loose their "streakiness" but I wanted sharper lines like I've seen on superb armor builds. I found out that if go against the airflow using a flat brush along the edge of the streaks, you push the oils into a sharper line and can control and shape it better. The brush needs to be just barley damp with thinner. I describe it as a bulldozer angling the scoop and pushing the dirt over as it goes a long... not straight ahead. I'm sure that makes no sense... so sorry... but maybe a spark of that makes sense in English. There are probably better ways to do this and I am all ears to learn more about weathering techniques. cheers!
