stevej60
Hi folk's I got the table out this morning un-boxed a couple of Aircraft project,s and just put them back as quite honestly I just did'nt have the motivation for some reason.I have only one "armour" kit in the stash which is Airfix's Bedford and Tilly support vehicle's set so I cut plastic and two coffee's and an hour later I was here! They are superb little kit's quick to go together and beautifully molded and detailed so if you fancy tagging along to see the result's your welcome! No worries Steve, if I want a sprue shot I can go and open the box on mine - I'll be interested to see your progress though. Sgt.Squarehead
Smashing kits and you are making a fine job of them.....I just wish Airfix would pull their finger out and give us some more 1/72 vehicles and maybe even some AFVs.
Stew Dapple
Agreed Sarge, I'd like that Albion fueller to be scaled down to the correct scale for starters... Cheers, Stew

Quite how Airfix managed to make it 50% too large in the first place, I'll never understand!

stevej60
Morning all, after a trip down to the coast last night and fish'n chips I had an hour at the table when we got back home and got a couple of coat,s on the RAF pair mixed the colour from photo's, builds etc found on the net,so first a couple of shot's of the pair: Now you might have noticed a slight change in the title, because foolishly SWMBO forgot to ask for the change from the food last night so after dropping her of at work this morning I popped into my local Boyes store as I knew they had a pile of these cheap: So I'll keep the thread rolling with these two as well,I have mentioned before that my Dad was a driver with the RASC in Italy and Palestine 1943-46 and I,m sure he must have driven the QL at some stage so here,s a couple of photo,s from a small collection I have of "Geordie" Smith as the photo;s record him,he's on the Left of the first photo, one sight of that physique and German,s knew the war was lost!

sean
I'll tag along as well Steve. I'm not long after building the Bedford, it's a lovely wee kit. Just watch the fit of the side windows, they're a bit tight if theres any paint on the parts, they'll end up at a funny angle. Other than that, it's a treat. stevej60
Hi folk,s little update on the Bedford, painted the wheels and fixed in place,Airfix have flattened the tyre's and have a shaped stub similar to their aircraft kit's but IMHO a lot better molded they really click into place even with paint on might get the camo on the Tilly after a coffee.

stevej60
Hi all,the little Tilly has it,s seats added and "Mickey Mouse" camoflage painted which needs a second thin coat and there,s a little paint to scrape off the windscreen, the tilt has been painted along with the cab cover which I have painted a slightly different shade it being canvass.
Ian Suds
Joining this build. I did these two for my GT-T Lancaster build, 'though I did the Bedford as a bowser instead of a truck. Looking good so far
Ian Suds
I find Boyes stores are brilliant with modelling stuff. When visiting family in Scarborough ( where Boyes started) I stock up with loads of stuff. Mind you on my last visit they didn't have quite as much as usual. Yes Ian,my local did loads of vallejo, squadron putty, tamiya (copy) tape at a quarter of the price and other stuff as well as Kit's but they seem to be running it all down now now which is a shame. Ian Suds
Really large bottles of Valejo washes very cheap when compared to the small standard bottle, should last 'till I'm unable to model anymore shame they seem to be scaling down.
