Hello,

yes I will be there.

If everything goes according to plans we should have a release date announced at Telford plus a new monograph on the 8A series by Artipresse to cover your reference needs ;)

Best regards

Amaru

Ok folks, IPMS Nats at Telford have been and gone.  Britmodeller seems to have been swamped with discussion about the new Airfix UK Phantom (and the previously announced 1/48 Sea Fury).  Any update on the A-17 from Antarki?  Amaru?  Anybody?

Ok...raising this one to the top of the forum one last time.  Is there any update/news on this kit?  I truly hope it's still in progress, even if the release date has slipped.  I'm definitely in for a couple of these if Antarki is taking pre-orders.  Unfortunately, given the silence on the topic for over 6 months now, I'm starting to think that the project is dead. :(

Nick and Christian,

I'm with you both.  I'd be in for Dutch, Iraqi, USAAC and RCAF versions.  I can't understand why this aircraft has been avoided by manufacturers.  It has so many interesting marking schemes and was in operational service in many countries, particularly in South America.  I guess I'm just weird!

Cheers,
Mark

That's at least some positive news, Johan.  Thanks for sharing.  Maybe if we all keep thinking happy thoughts, our wishes will come true and the kit(s) will be released.  Happy thoughts.  Happy thoughts.  Happy thoughts...etc.

WOO and even HOO!!!  Not sure how this update slipped past me.  However, am DELIGHTED and THRILLED that work is continuing on this project.  Wouldn't surprise me if SH was involved given that they released a 1/72 kit of the A-17.  Please oh PLEASE keep this 1/48 kit moving forward.  Am eagerly anticipating getting at least 2-3 of them (which is unusual for me - I normally only buy one of any aircraft).

I think it shall come in three months.  The number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, neither count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five is right out. Once the number three, being the third number, be reached, then lobbest thou thy Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch towards thy foe, who, being naughty in My sight, shall snuff it.

"The Northrop A-17 and its export derivatives" book to be released shortly!

For the past months the final bits of work on the new book about the Northrop A-17 have been done. Yesterday, all text was proof read by relevant experts. All comments will be processed in the final editting.

This book will be your ultimate guide to the Antarki and Special Hobby kits! It'll count 150 pages and will be illustrated with hundreds of previously unpublished photomaterial and technical drawings. The authors were assisted by specialists from the Canadian and South African Air Forces, while aviation historians from all around the globe have provided material. The book was written by Nico Braas (Holland, expert on experimental and prototype aircraft) Santiago Rivas (Argentina), Amaru Tincopa (Peru) and myself, Edwin Hoogschagen (Holland).
