Is that the Airfix La Haye Saint farmhouse in the background?

I have just re-painted these Airfix (01749) Waterloo French Grenadiers of the Imperial Guard as 1er and 2e Batallions, 2e Régiment de Grenadiers (Old Guard), supplemented by 8 figures from the Revell set.

Wow - that really brings me back to the 1970's, and the green carpet in our landing where we boys used to use these Airfix figures to do our own Napoleonic battles, with some conversions to white coated Austrians, as far as I can remember (probably as a result of an article in an Airfix magazine)....

Wonder what happened to them.....

I am surprised that you can still get the boxes.

I've been to see a fair few, but I don't participate. English Heritage did quite a few - I've seen Napoleonic re-enactments at Audley End, the Battle of Hastings at Battle, a Civil War re-enactment at Wimborne Minster, jousting at Carisbrooke and various other events - I'm interested in history
