Revell F86D

Recommended Posts

Hi Folks

This has to be one of the easiest kits I have ever built, the engineering of this is brilliant.

i had laid a few of these in for the wings to use on the Academy F86 kits but thought it was time I built one just for a change.

The decals are from Eagle Strike, painted with a mix of silvers, most of the pictures of F86D's show a very bright finish but the photo's I have of this aircraft show it to be somewhat more subdued.

Ian

Very nice Ian,.......its a lovely model of a very dull, boring aeroplane which hasn`t even got any guns!!!! :sleep_1::winkgrin:

Cheers

Tony

PS- Was it one of the Black Knights aircraft based in Iceland?

I totally agree with your assertion about the ease with which this kit goes together.....I've had one, almost complete, on the 'shelf of doom' for no other reason than my concern on the application of a rather complex cloud scheme (we, for me anyway). One day I'll get it finished in the rather fetching JRV colour scheme with what looks like a sharks head in black on the nose surfaces. IIRC it was one of the JRV aerobatic display team schemes.

A great paint scheme on my favourite F-86 model.

It looks just great!
